CLARIFICATIONS

First I like to let everyone know that

Leaving does not means total neglect

We are under a commandment

To honour our Parents with all we have

With our monies, visitations, cares and calls

They carry such a blessing

That God has not put in anybody’s mouth

Ask Esau or Jacob they will  tell you

The Golden rule says ‘Do to others

What you like to be done to you’

So how you treat your Parents is a seed

That you will surely reap

From your Children too

I am not advocating Parent abandonment

Secondly Parents offering their financial help

Is not bad at all in every sense of it

It is a known fact that in the first stage

Of newly wedded couple

Wealthy Parents do support their siblings

But such helps should be for a while

Not to make your Parents the source

Of your family finances

Becoming a financial liability unknown

It rob of a man of the Pride of earning what he has

I once watched a documentary of an Activist

In one of the African Countries on Cable TV

Who gave an eye-opening speech

That changed my life for good

‘Anytime a man begs for alms

He soiled his Pride as a man

No man becomes strong begging for alms

No family becomes strong looking for aids

And no Nation can thrive calling for alms’

Thus the morals of leaving Parents financially

Is to develop ones capacity to HAVE

If you are blessed with your parent giving you a house

Take it with all joy but know it’s a challenge

For you too to build a house for your son too

Finally Gen.2:24 and Matth. 19:5

Both ask a man to leave so that he can cleave

It is important to note that fulfilling this is PEACE
