Faith Over Fears

While the world is hit with a pandemic Covid-19 diseases, it is legitimate to have serious safety concerns for those we love and care for, even for our own safety, but we mustn't allow these concerns to degenerate into worries, anxieties, and panic.

It is bad enough that the economies of families, industries, and nations are having adverse effects due to businesses that are being shut down, many layoffs, and halt on daily commercial activities. Sinking into worries and having panic could make it much more worse for one's mental and spiritual well-being.

That is why in this period we must make an intentional effort to choose faith over fears, to engage the practicalities of the promises of God concerning us in this trying times.

We need to remember that the Lord is with us always, even in the midst of the valley of the shadow death (Psalms 23:4), and He has promised us that no waters or fire of any circumstances will harm us or overcome us (Isaiah 43:2).

So instead of worrying, we should learn to pray and make our petition and concerns known to God, which is a gateway to having peace in the midst of these chaotic situations. And as faith comes by hearing, (Romans 10:17), so is fears too, thus, we should engage more in bible study much more than what the news is saying. There are too many fears already in the news, it is advisable to feed our faith in this period through the word of God.

I pray that the peace of God, that transcends all understanding will dwell in your heart through Jesus Christ. Amen. And may God's protection keep you and your family safe, may the storm of COVID-19 not come near your dwelling place and may God give you the strength to trust him all the way and cope through these hard times.

Stay blessed and stay safe.
