DON’T CHICKEN OUT

You don’t choose your family
You grow up to find yourself among your folks
No one ever choose his sex too
You only matured to discover your gender
You don’t choose your shape, voice tone and hair colour too
But it’s funny how these things affect us on our way to maturity

First in primary school
You get bullied for been too black
Big eye balls & brown teeth

Then in college too
They make jest of you for being too short, too fat
They blame you for reflecting your dad and mum in shape and size

Then in higher institution you relate by family class
Only few have cross-class relationship and friends
But sometimes I think

If we might just be chanced
To choose our family, colour, shape, country and gender
Ever before we are given birth to
How will the world look like?

I know it will be boring
Because all these differences makes life
Challenging and interesting
These issues spice up human history
And they develop strength of character and courage in us.

Have you ever thought about?
Many stories that abound in the world
Stories of courage, defeat, woes, conquest, victories, battles and peace
Some end in tragedy
Others they finished courageously

See, everyone walking the street of the earth
Is a living history
Some the world would get to read them while they live
But usually the world don’t get to read many
While they live or are gone
Because not all conquers life gallantly
To command the gaze of their world.

Then I sat down
To look into stories that amazed the world
Then I discovered that only stories of courage
Displayed by uncommon act of hope, faith and conquest
Find their way to the ear and gaze of the World

Many people who bow out
Who chicken in and give up
Don’t hold any value in the global view

So friends don’t chicken out no matter what
Be strong.
